3 Ways to Survive Valentine’s Day

We know that Valentine’s Day is a money making holiday filled with expensive, heart shaped chocolates and flowers. Yet it always succeeds in getting us to face the concept of love in an in-depth way. With several weeks into the new year, today marks a check point in life where one starts to realize life is either adding up or “nah”.

Strangely, many people are dumped in the days leading to today and are throwing themselves a pity party; however, I want to remind you that you have to give yourself time and a fighting chance to find love. Available men and women are everywhere and settling down can be easy, but compromising is never something you should settle down on.

Finding your soulmate and your best friend is about an everlasting commitment to go through the hurdles you experience alone, together. It’s about multiplying the joy and dividing the fear, insecurity and pain. If you decide to be with someone that does not make you happy, you are going to multiply your fear, insecurity and pain.

How do you get past today without shedding tears? You start the day by not trying to hold back any feelings you have. There aren’t enough moments in life where we are authentic with our emotions. Use that somber moment to appreciation the concept of love and that LOVE still has value in your life.

Secondly, commit to putting yourself out there in a much more bold and fashionable way. If you haven’t found love, or need to reignite your love, hit the reset button. Lucky for all of us, love is a flame that never dies.

Lastly, don’t let the hope for love get you hopeless. You can love yourself in the meantime.  Be good to yourself until you find someone to share that goodness with.

True love is such a beautiful creation. We all deserve have it but even better, to give it. So in instead of feeling like your life isn’t adding up, do something for someone you else to add them up.
